Thomas Lafayette Jurney Sr who was born March 23, 1833 in Union Grove, North Carolina and died December 18, 1909 in Union Grove, North Carolina.  Have no information on his mother but he remarried.

Don't know anything about Thomas Lafayette Jurney Sr linage but Maynard Journey (with an O)having lived in Mardyke, a little town near Dunkirk, France. He left there in 1630 and settled in Mannhiem, Germ. Leaving there he settled in the US marrying Eliz. Dumont, formerly of Middleburg, Holland, May 16, 1664 in Brooklyn, NY. He died May 30, 1678 leaving his wife, a daughter and a son named John. The descendant families settled in NJ, Va., Tex., Fl. and NC.
